Hi, I’m Dr. Kate.

I help smart, high-achieving individuals clarify and actualize what they want from their personal and professional lives. Through 1:1 coaching and workshops, my clients learn new ways of thinking and how to apply practical tools to overcome challenges, get unstuck, and create lasting joy and meaning in their lives.

My approach to coaching is trauma-informed and I work from an anti-oppression lens grounded in intersectional feminist, queer, and trans studies.

I use evidence-based tools and modalities, including:

  • Strengths-based coaching

  • Somatic coaching

  • Mindfulness

  • Nonviolent/compassionate communication

  • Attachment theory

  • Narrative coaching

I hold a coaching certification from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the most globally recognized credentialing body in the coaching profession, dedicated to ensuring the highest standard in coaching.

I have over two decades of experience studying liberation, mindfulness, and wellbeing. I was born in Paris and lived in France until I moved to the United States to study feminist and queer theory, earning a PhD in those fields from Duke University. While working as a professor at Georgetown University and the Maryland Institute College of Art, I began meditating and exploring mindfulness, movement, somatics, communication, and relationship health as additional vehicles of transformation. I bring all of this knowledge and experience to partner with my clients in a supportive and thought-provoking collaboration, helping them figure out what being free and living an authentic, joyful, meaningful life looks like for them, and how to get there. I hold them accountable for their progress, working through resistances or challenges as they arise, facilitate new insights, and provide effective tools. I see this work as world-making—one that benefits my clients but also contributes to reknitting the fabric of our shared world.
